July Tiny Reasons

Hold onto this.

One day, they won’t wander into the kitchen just because you’re there.

They’ll know how to make their own lunch.

They’ll grab their own water.

They’ll head out the door without needing help finding their shoes.

You’ll spend years teaching them to become more independent, and one day you’ll realize they quietly did.

You’ll miss hearing, “Can you help me?”

Not because helping was easy.

But because it meant they still believed you could fix almost anything.

This season is loud.

It’s repetitive.

It asks the same questions a hundred times.

It interrupts your thoughts and stretches your patience.

And somehow, without announcing itself, it becomes the season you’ll miss the most.

So answer one more question.

Read one more book.

Watch one more cartwheel.

Listen to one more story that takes ten minutes longer than it needed to.

One day, you’ll wish you could.

Things you can do for future you

Keep one small piece of this ordinary season.

You don’t have to capture everything. Just leave yourself a few breadcrumbs back to the life you’re living now.

1

Take one candid video today with everyone’s normal voices.

2

Leave your phone in another room for fifteen minutes, and just be where they are.

3

Write down one funny thing someone said this week.

4

Print one photo that’s been living on your phone.

5

Say yes to something that will make a little more mess than usual.

Hold onto this

You won’t remember every ordinary July afternoon.

But you’ll be grateful you held onto a few.
